On the 21st November 2024 – In a significant gesture to boost Ndu’s ongoing efforts to improve hygiene and sanitation, Mayor Borno distributed essential work tools to twenty-two active youth groups within the municipality. This initiative underscores the council’s commitment to engaging young people in community development and fostering a cleaner, healthier environment for all Ndu residents.

The event, held at the council premises, saw the enthusiastic participation of the youth groups, each receiving a range of tools vital for their clean-up and sanitation projects. These included shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, gloves, among others. The Mayor emphasized the importance of this collaborative effort, highlighting the crucial role young people play in shaping the future of Ndu.
“Our youth are the future of Ndu,” Mayor Borno stated. “By empowering them with the necessary resources and support, we are investing in a brighter, cleaner future for our community. These tools are not just instruments for cleaning; they represent our belief in the power of youth engagement and their dedication to improving our municipality.”
The twenty-two youth groups, representing diverse areas and interests within Ndu, have already demonstrated a strong commitment to community improvement through various initiatives. The provision of these tools will significantly enhance their capacity to undertake larger-scale clean-up operations and implement sustainable sanitation practices. This will contribute to a more visually appealing and healthier environment, reducing the risk of disease and improving the overall quality of life for residents.

This initiative is part of a wider municipal strategy focused on sustainable development and community participation. The council plans to continue supporting youth-led initiatives and provide further resources to ensure the long-term success of these crucial sanitation efforts. The Mayor expressed confidence in the youth’s ability to make a significant difference and urged them to continue their valuable contributions to the well-being of Ndu.
The successful distribution of the tools marks a significant step forward in Ndu’s journey towards a cleaner and healthier community, a journey actively shaped and driven by its dedicated young citizens. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of these efforts in the months to come.
